Name: Simon Bown
Role: Commercial Director
What do you do at Bespoke?
As Commercial Director I am responsible for fostering the growth of our business working with key customers and partners.
What excites you most about your role?
The value and benefits we can deliver to our customers. I believe the Power Platform has the potential to accelerate digital evolution in customers if adopted effectively. And it’s exciting to be part of a team which enables that adoption.
If you could switch jobs with anyone in the office for a day, who would it be and why?
I love technology, so if I could switch jobs with anyone it would be Adrian our CTO.
What challenges do you face in your role, and how do you overcome them?
Staying updated on industry trends and the fast-paced changes of the Power Platform especially with the integration of generative AI. I try to make time for updates from industry research throughout my day. Finding time can be a challenge but it is an essential part of the role.
What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working?
I love good food and I really enjoy cooking, so entertaining friends and family is something I love doing. I also like to watch rugby though I’m a Gloucester supporter I can’t say it’s always a happy experience.
What’s the most interesting thing about working at Bespoke?
The people and culture are the most interesting things about working at Bespoke. Sam and Jordan, the co-founders have brought together a diverse and talented team.
What’s your favourite movie?
There are so many choices, but if I was going to go for a single film I would have to say Top Gun. I wanted to be a fighter pilot after watching it for the first time.
What was the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Never stop challenging yourself and learning. Maintaining a growth mindset is so important in life as we adapt to new opportunities and challenges. It has helped me in many ways none more so than being a stepfather.
What would people never guess you do in your role?
What people may not guess or expect about my role is that I do a lot of coaching and helping others within their role. Something which is a key and very enjoyable part of the job.
Can you share a lesson you’ve learned that has stayed with you in your career?
Understand what you can control, what you can influence and what is outside of your control. This saves lots of stress and worry over time.
If you could time travel to any era, past or future, where would you go and what would you do?
I would like into the near future to understand the impact of climate change and AI. I would love to learn about it and bring back that knowledge to help future generations.
